The United States preventive task force is recommending to limit the use of aspirin to prevent heart attacks people 60 years or older.
In the past we have used Aspirin prophylactically to prevent heart attacks in some patients. But it carries a slightly increased risk of bleeding or gastritis.
Right now we believe that anybody at risk of blood clots or anyone who has had heart attack or blockages already should use aspirin 81 mg a day unless their bleeding risk is high.

Each individual should discuss their case with their doctor to determine if the benefit outweighs the risk in each case to continue taking Aspirin or not.
